According to UNOS, more than 100,000 people in need of an organ are currently on the transplant waiting list,¹ while there were fewer than 15,000 organ donors in 2008.*² There's a crucial need for more organ donors.

While 98% of all adults have heard about organ donation and 90% of Americans say they support donation, only 35% of licensed drivers and ID card holders are registered organ donors, and only 30% know the essential steps to take to become a donor.^3,4

This means that not enough people know what it takes to sign up to be a donor. That's why Astellas has made organ donation education a top priority.
